Your Guide to help you choose

Training Camps, Club Weeks and Leisure Weeks

The runs vary in their distance and speed but there is enough variety on a SportActive week for every taste and ability. Every group has a SportActive group leader who will control the pace and the discipline on the road - this is important as safety is paramount.

SportActive coaches also take the time to talk through training issues with you individually on request.

So what do the runs look like? Below are a few examples of our group training runs.

There can be up to 5 groups.

Training Group (Example 1)

These runs vary in length (70-150 km) depending on the route and terrain. Typically the average speed will be 18-20 mph (28-32 km/h) but the pace is controlled by our experienced coach to allow every participant to get the best from themselves. These runs suit 1st and 2nd category riders preparing for Easter racing.

Nevertheless we always enjoy a coffee stop - it is a holiday after all.

Training Group (Example 2)

The runs will be on similar routes to the first example (1) above. They are at a slightly more sedate pace - around 17-20 mph (28-30 km/h). There is always the main coffee stop where we have lunch but sometimes we have a second coffee stop on demand.

Training Group (Example 3)

This is a group with average speed of 13-16 mph (21 - 26 km/h). The distance is shorter (60-100 km) and some of the more difficult parts of the routes 1 and 2 are bypassed as to make it suitable for base level training. And as always we will include a number of coffee stops.

Training and Leisure Groups (Example 4)

To coin a phrase these do exactly what it says on the tin!! These runs are an opportunity to explore the laneways and country villages of Majorca. The distances vary from 30 to 90 km; the biking time is between 2 to 5 hours.
